When I saw the new LEGO Batman Movie I particularly liked the scene where the Batman is choosing from his collection of different styled Batman outfits. It inspired me to create different designs of Batman's helmet. I know that some of them are a bit "crazy", but I guess that the Batman in the movie was a bit crazy too. :-)
Batman's head is hand painted by me with 3 layers of UV protection clear coat, so the longevity of the paint is secured. I came up with a few different designs and so far we have made 12 of them.

What all can you do with LEGO Mindstorms ?

I remember my first encounter with LEGO Mindstorms very clearly and it was everything but not a pleasant experience. Not because I would be disappointed or unimpressed by the theme. Rather the complete opposite. :-) I will explain it ...
It was a complete coincidence and it happened when I visited a brick event in Prague lately. First, it's important to say that I am terribly afraid of snakes. So when I was walking around the hall full of LEGO and suddenly saw a moving snake in the glass display just next to me ... You know what happened - I was running away as fast as I could from the display.

I am sure that I have scared or at least amused some people around. :-) It scared me so much that it took me some time to realise that it is not a real snake but a very real looking brick replica powered by LEGO Mindstorms toolkit.

Fortunately, there was not only the moving snake but also more friendlier LEGO Mindstorms creations which I was not afraid to approach closer to see what all they can do.

There was a machine programmed to pick some objects and move them from one place to another or a strong robot with whom I would not want to engage in fight ...

These videos make me think about buying the toolkit too and try to program something similar by myself. However, nothing as big and difficult as in the videos and definitely no snakes. :-)

71042 - The Silent Mary - The Most Beautiful LEGO ship of all time ?

Almost every year since 2009 LEGO has released at least one sailing ship. If you are thinking about buying one there are quite a few to choose from. Last week, LEGO added one more to its flotilla - The Silent Mary, a beautiful (but a bit scary) ship that appeared in Pirates of Caribbean movie. Definitely one of the most beautiful ships released by LEGO so far, in my opinion.
 
If you are fascinated by LEGO sailing ships it is good to know that their price used to rise sharply as time passed so there is no reason to hesitate with purchase. I guess that the new The Silent Mary will not be an exception and will provide a pretty nice return as the rest of the flotilla.

You will discover how the whole Gotham City or Arkham Asylum was replicated by LEGO bricks. You will be amazed by the amount of detail that was considered by the team.

The Characters section is my utmost favourite. There are many pages dedicated to description of design development of individual heroes. I especially like the double page with Joker's grimaces or the hand drawn sketches of minifigs in action.
